Christmas Time is here
The only signs of Christmas around me are at school. The spirit of the season has not reached all of us. It is more difficult to get excited anymore. Christmas was so much more when I was younger. Maybe, the children around me at the time kept the spirit electrified. I do not feel the same excitement nowadays.
Think about it!

Balance
In every life there has to be some balance. One of the grand-daughters challenged everyone to a balancing thing. She had her great grand-mother put a book on her head and hold still for over a minute, while she walked around showing her skills.
When Curtis balanced the book on his head there was a tilt to the balance.

I've been slacking
I got lazy the last few days and did not post for a few days. I wasn't taking my camera with me. But I got back on track. This child received a pair of socks from Paris and he put them on. Well the dye came off on his feet. We all had concerns about his toes but the dye came off with some baby oil and probably onto one of mother's good wash cloths.
Those little piggy's had to go to the tub!!

Back to School and work
Boy was it difficult to get out of bed this morning. I was hoping that the alarm clock was wrong. But low and behold it was truly time to hit the pavement. All of my sweet angels were in school and feeling as tired as I. We talked about vacation and the work ahead of us.
My picture of the day shows my bags being packed and ready to go to the car.

Sunday, the 9th day
I've been off for nine days. School bells ring tomorrow morning and I've got to be there early. (I'm on duty) Then my sweet angels will show up to learn all that they can. And they will be looking to me to teach them all that I can. The first day(s) after any break is the most difficult for the students and the teacher. Everyone is trying to get back on track. Thank God for the rest and relaxation of the holiday.
I"m packed and ready to go. Ready or not here comes Monday.

Creative Eye

Today, I spent time in my craft room. I have misplaced my muse, have you found one running loose anywhere? Although, I am not sure if I was ever formerly introduced to my muse. I just know that mine is missing.
I remember the good old days, when not a day went by that something creative was completed in this room. Now-a-days the most creative work going on in here is ironing. I mean I don't even have creative thoughts in the room. The most creative I've been is cutting mats for Curtis' degree and PA certification. I'm talking dry.
So the picture a day has me looking at things differently. Thank God, for versatility.
This photo is a new look at a manni-peddi. (Curtis' feet)

The Day After Thanksgiving
Today has been a lazy day. I'm glad that I had all day to recoup from yesterday. It's late in the evening and I have not taken my picture of the day. I am giving this a lot of thought. I want the pictures to mean something to me. The image has not revealed itself to me as of
yet. It has only been three days and good images are becoming more difficult to identify. I love the idea of taking pictures but I question my artistic eye. I know that am creative but, artistic is another thing. I can see how to make things. I say that I can "see" it because I can take a hand made item in my hands flip it over a few times and see its pattern. But seeing the simplicity and beauty of a photograph escapes me. I need practice. There must be some secret that I have not uncovered yet. Thus the reason for my challenge to myself.
I would like to entice some of my friends to a picture a day.
I have until midnight.

Turkey Day
We are on our way to visit the Seay clan in Austin. My wonderful son and daughter-in-law, and their six children. My daughter should be in from Dallas soon. Our Thanksgiving day is always spent sharing, talking and laughing together. Then for the big meal and just before the after dinner sleepiness can attack us we go out for a long walk. It helps make room for desert. This year we will share Cajun fried turkey, ham, greens, dressing, potatoes, rolls and red nvelvet cake.
I'll share a picture later.

Day Before Thanksgiving
I wan t to try something new. This is the opposite of my THING. I always say that I don't like writing. So here I am, writing down my thoughts as if someone else wants to listen to me.
I have a nice camera and I'm gonna start to taking more pictures. On one blog I recently read the person vowed to take a picture a day. I think I can do that. So, today is day one.
